The Bike Diva
Hi, my name is Lynn Smythe and I will be your bike diva. We currently have 12 bikes at our house. My kids aren’t bike freaks, they only use their wheels to get around the neighborhood. My son has an old Trek clunker which we got at our favorite bike store for only $50. My daughter is currently riding a Townie Electra that she got last year for Christmas. My husband and I are the bike freaks in the family. He owns a Kona chopper, and three Cannondales - a Cannondale urban bike, a Cannondale mountain bike, and his carbon frame Cannondale road bike. I only have four bikes at the moment but am thinking about getting an time trial bike. I have a Nirve beach cruiser for real casual rides (it has coaster brakes and only 3 speeds and weighs ten tons!). I also have two Cannondales - an awesome full suspension Cannondale mountain bike and Cannondale Synapse 2 feminine specific road bike. In February I got a brand new road bike. A 2008 Trek Madone 6.5 WSD. It's awesome - totally carbon and weighs only 14.1 pounds! My Cannondale Synapse 2 is a great bike too - mostly carbon and weighs just a bit over 17 pounds. But I LOVE my new Trek Madone 6.5. I started racing in time trials this year and so far have won 3rd place and 5th place medals for my age group. I even have a few companies sponsoring me - too cool!
