A New Fitness Water
I recently had a chance to sample 4 flavors of
Vital Action Performance Water. If I had to make a comparison, I would say that Vital Action Performance Water is similar to Propel Fitness Water, Snapple Antioxidant Water or Glacieau Vitamin Water. Vital Action Performance Water is available in 7 colors, with each color corresponding to a particular flavor. The water comes in 20 ounce plastic bottles and a suggested serving size is 8 ounces, which contains 45 calories. Consuming the entire 20 ounce bottle would add 112.5 calories to your daily intake. I am a long distance cyclist, and burn anywhere from 500 to 1,000 calories per hour, depending on the intensity of my workout. So 112 calories is just a drop in the bucket for me.
- red = cherry
- orange = orange
- purple = grape
- green = lime
- white = lemonade
- pink = strawberry
- yellow = tropical
Key Ingredients
Vital Action Performance Water contains four key ingredients of benefit to to both pro and amateur athletes of every ability.
- Ginseng for energy. Ginseng is a natural herb that promotes circulation and stimulates the central nervous system. Ginseng also boosts mental awareness and energy in the body and mind.
- Arginine for stamina. Arginine is an amino acid that enhances blood flow and prepares your body for excercise while improving immune function.
- Echinacea for immunity. Echinacea is traditionally used to prevent colds, flu and other infections. Echinacea is also believe to stimulate your immune system and help fight infection.
- NAC for recovery. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, AKA NAC, is an amino acid that helps boost Glutathione levels in the body. This powerful antioxidant helps to neutralize free radicals and help speed recovery.
Refreshing Beverage
Vital Action Performance Water is refreshingly thirst quenching, without being overly sweet, like some other brands of sports waters tend to be. I sampled the orange, strawberry, lemonade and tropical flavors of Vital Action Performance Water. The strawberry flavor was my favorite, with the lemonade running a close second. For some reason I didn't enjoy the tropical flavor, it had a bit of a perfumey aftertaste to it, not fruity, like I was expecting. My husband, son and daughter all enjoyed sampling the Vital Action Performance Water. I had to place a post-it-note on the bottles, to make sure they didn't walk off with the water before I got a chance to test all the flavors for this article!
All Natural Sweetener
The key to Vital Action Performance Waters refreshing taste is
Fruit Up® Premium. Fruit Up® Premium is made from a blend of 100% fruit (apple & grape) extracts which has been been created without any chemical processing or additives. Fruit Up® Premium scores very low on the glycemic index.

I enjoyed the Vital Action Performance Water at room temperature, but most people will probably want to refrigerate the product before consuming. I also tried it cold, but as I do a lot of cycling and running events, where it's not always possible to bring along a cooler, I have gotten used to drinking beverages at room temperature.
If you are looking for a change from plain water, and don't want to ingest a lot of calories, try Vital Action Performance Water, the next time you are thirsty. I especially like the fact that Vital Action Performance Water is caffeine free. There are a lot of sports drinks currently on the market that contain excessive amounts of sugar, caffeine and guarana. Vital Action Performance Water is a nice change from typical sports drinks, and a refreshing alternative to plain water.

Hello Shep,
I was contacted by a marketing rep for Vital Action Performance Water to see if I was interested in receiving samples. It's a fairly new product. It will be available at select grocery and convenience stores.
