My husband and I had a chance to stop by the Bicycle Lab in Delray Beach today. The bike shop, which opened back in December, had its official grand opening celebration today from 10 AM to 6 PM. The shop is open M-F from 10 AM to 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday by appointment.

The Bicycle Lab caters to triathletes, seasoned bike pros and enthusiastic beginners. Besides a full line of bicycles, clothing, equipment and gear, the Bicycle Lab also offers three different fit systems:

- Fit Institute Slow Twitch - triathlon specific bike fit

Nice Selection of Gear
The Bicycle Lab keeps a great selection of gear in stock. It was nice to see an entire wall of Sidi bike shoes, an entire wall of saddles, great selection of clothes and an entire display of nutritional products in stock. One of my pet peeves at some of the other local bike shops, that shall remain nameless, is that they don't have any selection of products to choose from. Sure, I can go online and order gels, jersey's, socks, etc... but it's always nice to give our business to a local bike shop.
I wish The Bicycle Lab the best of luck with their new store. I live just down the street from the shop, so I'm sure my husband and I will become regular customers. And when I've collected enough pennies, I plan to come back for the Cannondale Slice time trial bike that's currently on display in the front window (providing they slap on a set of deep dish carbon wheels). One can always dream.

Being a former successful shop owner and industry geek, I'm always hesitant, yet excited, to enter into a new bike shop. After having met Jeff & Jim, and spending time shootin' the bicycle breeze, I bought some needed items and will surely be back to this tidy, well-stocked yet minimalist, top-shelf shop again and again.
