On March 9 I posted about the Weston cyclist that was killed after being hit by a car on Saturday. The online edition of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel has a detailed story on the cyclist, 63 year old Leon Hamer, written by Macollvie Jean-François and Lisa J. Huriash.
Visit the Sun-Sentinel to read the complete story: "A few moments later, he was gone."
Leon is survived by his wife, Dr. Carol McKenzie, a gynecologist in Coral Springs, and their children, Jennifer, 21, and Christine, 18, who both attend college in New York.
I think I can speak for everyone in the cycling community when I say my thoughts and prayers go out to Leon's family during this tragic time.
The Broward County's Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident, and have not released a report of the incident.
Take care,
