I recently had a chance to test out Skweet Sport Bottle Wash. Skweet is an all-natural, non-toxic, biodegradable product that can be used to clean out your water bottles and hydration packs. Skweet leaves behind no soapy residue or taste. Skweet washes, cleans and deodorizes plastic, aluminum and stainless steel water bottles and hydration reservoirs.
Melt Down
I can't tell you how many plastic water bottles I've partially melted in my dishwasher. Once the bottles become distorted, the lids no longer fit snuggly, which means the contents of my water bottles leak all over the place. Not so bad if I just have water in the bottles, but it's a really sticky mess when the bottles are filled with an electrolyte solution. I do a lot of long distance biking, so 95% of the time my water bottles are filled with MotorTabs electrolyte tablets.
I was really impressed with Skweet, and now use it to wash all my water bottles.
Besides being a long distance road biker, and a sprint distance duathlete, I also own a single speed cyclocross bike which I occasionally use on local urban bike rides. I always use my Aqualine hydration pack, by Hydrapak, when I'm riding my cyclocross bike. I will definately be using Skweet to clean out my hydration pack from now on. Skweet? No, SWEET!!!
Skweet is really easy to use. Simply place 1 teaspoon of Skweet into an empty water bottle and fill half way with water. Replace the lid, making sure the sip top is closed, and shake well. Open towards sink and rinse with fresh water - simple. The procedure for cleaning hydration packs is similar, simply use a bit more Skweet, as hydration packs hold a lot more water than water bottles.

Skweet was created by exercise junkie Jennifer Letscher after she got tired of drinking out of one too many soap infused water bottles. Not a pleasant experience, been there, done that - BLECH!

Who'd have thunk of it? Well, besides J.L., of course! I'm so used to funky flavahs from the dishwasher, that I'd just figured that's part of riding. I'll have to check this out.
I don't suppose she's also figured out how to get the perm-stink out of jerseys and shorts, has she?
