West Palm Beach TimeTrail Races

Mike Purdy just emailed me the schedule for the upcoming 15k time trial races.

Hello,

The next scheduled TT will be Sunday Aug 16^th followed by Sunday Aug 30^th, Sunday September 13^th, Sunday October 11^th and Sunday October 25^th.

I mentioned trying to have a TT this Sunday, but Joan & I will not be available.

The Time Trial course is located at 20 mile bend. Approximately 3 miles west of Lion Country Safari turn left at the blinking light. Go over the steel bridge; make next left along the canal to park.

Unfortunately I can't make the next two time trials as they conflict with my race schedule:

August 16 - sprint duathlon - Mack Cycle Trilogy #3 - Key Biscayne

August 30 - sprint duathlon - Tradewinds Park - Coconut Creek

But so far it looks like I can make the ones in September and October. Hope to see you there!

Hi ! Do you know where I can get more information about these TTs (eg: race times, etc) ?

Hi Liz,

The races are run by Mike Purdy. He hasn't updated his website since last year. But here's the link anyways: http://www.wpbraceseries.com/. Registration usually opens up around 6:45 AM and the first racer is off by 7:30 AM. 1 minute between each racer, no drafting allowed. The winner's usually finish in around 20 minutes, takes me closer to 30, I'm mostly there to socialize!

Bring bug spray, parking is along a canal, first left after you go over the erector set bridge. $15 race fee. Last year the race was registered with USAC so you needed a license or pay 1 day race fee. But this year Mike didn't register the races with USAC, so he's not collecting race fees.
