On October 21st, I posted up information on GT Bicycles Catch & Release program. I just got a comment from a reader with a link to the Catch & Release video they found on U-Tube. Check it out - it's pretty funny!

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that your very own Bike Diva has been hired to be the cycling blogger for the Charity Mile website. I'll be blogging 2-3 times per week, usually on Tuesday and Thursday. I'll mostly be blogging about charity biking events that benefit various non-profit organizations. But I'm also allowed to blog about general training and nutrition tips, while getting ready for your next charity biking event.
I'll be posting up information on local and national charity biking events, as I find out about them. Road bike rides, mountain bike rides, etc.... If they benefit a charity organization I can blog about it. I'll also be adding lots of information on charity biking events that I have participated in such as:
Multiple Sclerosis Society - MS150
American Diabetes Association - Tour de Cure
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - various century rides throughout the United States.
I'll also be blogging about the various methods I've used to help raise funds for non-profit organizations, as I train for their charity cycling events.
Check out my first post I just added to the site: Cycling Blogger Introduction.

Lynn Smythe AKA the Bike Diva
I just used the Map My Ride site to map out our Team in Training ride that we will be doing on Saturday, August 30th. We will be starting from Loggerhead Park, in Juno Beach, at 7 AM. We'll ride north to Jensen Beach Park and back for a total of around 70 miles.
There are three rest stops scheduled for this ride: Jimmy Graham Boat Ramp Park, Stuart Beach Park and Hobe Sound Beach Park. The distance between each rest stops varies from 16 to 18.5 miles.
This will be a great, long distance training ride for us, as we get ready to do the 20th Intracoastal Century Ride in Cocoa Beach on October 26th.
Take care,
Lynn AKA the Bike Diva
You may have read a few weeks ago that the blog network that has been hosting my Bike Diva blog is shutting down. I am in the process of getting the www.bikediva.net domain name transferred over to me. Once the transfer is complete, the current http://thebikediva.wordpress.com blog will be moved to the www.bikediva.net site.
I did a search on www.bikediva.com. That domain name was available, so I went ahead and registered that domain. If for any reason I can't get the bikediva.net domain transferred over to me, I will be able to use the bikediva.com domain instead. There is some information on the www.bikediva.com site - just a freebie, 5 page generic website.
With the bikediva.com domain, I was given a free email account - lynn@bikediva.com and an online forum. The Bike Diva forum is located at: http://myforum.bikediva.com. It's a pretty generic forum, doesn't have many bells and whistles. I'll try using it for awhile to see how I like it. If the forum starts to become active I'll keep it open - visit the Bike Diva Forum and check it out. You can add new discussions to the forum or comment on existing discussions.

Lynn AKA the Bike Diva
Team in Training Ride
Our next Team in Training cycle team ride is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th. We will be starting from Coral Cove Park, in Tequesta, and traveling north to Jensen Beach Park, on Hutchinson Island, and back. Both our rest stops will be at Sandsprit Park in Port Salerno. The total length of this ride is approximately 58.1 miles.
Distance Between Rest Stops
21.31 miles - Coral Cove Park to Sandsprit Park (17.9 miles if you eliminate the Hobe Sound Preserve)
19.00 miles - Sandsprit Park to Jensen Beach Park and back to Sandsprit Park
17.70 miles - Sandsprit Park back to Coral Cove Park

My husband and I are raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. My husband is coaching, and I am mentoring the team that is training for the 20th Intracoastal Waterway Century Ride. This is a 100 mile road bike ride that takes place on October 26th, 2008 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Please click HERE, or on the logo above, to make a tax deductible donation to this worthy cause.FUND RAISING
I plan on doing my first marathon this fall with Team in Training. I'll be doing the half marathon at the Marathon of the Palm Beaches on December 7th, 2008 and the full marathon at the Disney Marathon in Orlando on January 11th, 2009. The fund raising minimum for doing the Disney Marathon with Team in Training is $2,400. My husband has no interest in participating in a marathon. But he said he can help me with my fund raising.
I'm still a few dollars short of my fund raising goal for the Cocoa Beach Century Ride so it's a bit early to even think about starting to fund raise for the Disney Marathon. The money I raise goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Here is a link to my fund raising page: Lynn's TNT Fundraising page. Please consider making a donation to help us find a cure. Thank you for your support!

Hello everyone,
The Bike Diva site was originally started in January, 2008 on the WebbleYou blog network. I just received an email today that said the WebbleYou network is closing as of the end of July.
YIKES - that just gives me 2 weeks to find a new blogging platform and get everything transferred over to the new blog site.
Please bear with me as I try to figure out how to get all my old posts uploaded to this site. Hopefully I can work with the owners of WebbleYou to get all my posts transferred over here, without actually having to cut and paste each individual post.
Take care,
Lynn Smythe AKA the Bike Diva
UPDATE:
I just figured out how to import everything from the old Bike Diva site to the new Bike Diva site. Everything looks fine and dandy - even the comments imported correctly. Cool beans!
Wow, I thought that would take me a couple of weeks to manually copy and paste each post. But Wordpress let me do it with just a couple of mouse clicks - EXCELLENT!
The Bike Diva reviews a variety of cycling, running and triathlon clothing, equipment, and nutritional products. Go to the Product Endorsement page for complete details.
